[Em]brace (2023)
EN: A dance performance about finding balance between support(ing) and independence, falling and getting up, accepting and redirecting...

NL:

Crossing Currents (parts in motion) (2022)
EN: How flexible can we remain in an always moving, ever changing scenery? Four dancers test their own and each other's (in)exhaustible adaptability in this interdisciplinary dance performance by Sanne Clifford & Talitha Schiffer.

Anam Cara (Soul Friend) (2020)
EN: Anam Cara (Soul Friend) shows an intimate meeting between the self and another as a mirror reflecting what we recognize of ourselves in the other. This poetic duet with live music creates an environment of co-existence, where the audience and musicians surround the dancers in a circle.

Mind your step (2020)
EN: In 'Mind your step' dance artist Sanne Clifford explores her freedom of movement within 1,5 x 1,5 square meters. The current adjustments of keeping physical distance in daily life have an effect on how we move and respond to each other. What does the body have to say to this?

NL: In '
Mind your step

Voice of Void (2019)
Are we aligned with our surroundings or did we irreversibly distance ourselves from them?

Inspired by the different paces of nature versus urban environments and the feeling of insignificance a grand landscape can evoke. Voice of Void zooms in on the influences of our surroundings in daily life and how it effects our inner world.

This visual choreography / dancing installation by Sanne Clifford (choreographer) and Manon Veldhuis (scenographer) highlights the contrast between these two environments we live in. They can provide stability or reason to adjust. The dancers move and respond to the rhythms of this changing landscape. Experience a mesmerizing game of different paces and unfolding patterns through movement, breath and an ongoing changing scenery.

Mira Mira (2015/2016)
'Mira Mira' is a solo performance about looking at Mira, at her journey of getting ready for a new chapter in her life.
How to find your way, staying true to yourself, standing your ground, but at the same time trying to stay flexible to see what is happening, what is coming at you?
Influences from outside versus the open and vulnerable inside. What do you and can you show of yourself? What if nobody is looking, or you are looked at all the time?
Mira looks, sees the inviting challenges around herself. She is getting ready to make a change, without settling for less. Everything is possible.

Ballast (2012)
Ballast is a contra-weight that serves to support an item, for example within boats. However, the term is often used as an expression in Dutch, where it has a negative meaning: that the weight holds us back or is a burden.
This choreography is based on the contrast of the term:
Stability and support vs. restrictions

Cocoon (2011)
Does the way in which you perceive yourself and how others perceive you resemble the person you are today? Layer upon layer of first impressions, choices and changes you made, have been formed in the years passing by.

Layers of plastic like a second skin. They are transparent, strong and vulnerable at the same time. Do they give enough space to breathe or do you need to peel those layers off to see who you are today? Four dancers struggle with those thoughts. Taking a step away from blending in daily life, they search for their own identity that fits today.

A collaboration between Theatre Designer Majorie Voorhuis & choreographer Sanne Clifford.

Danced by: Sanne Clifford, Sam Bergsma, Charlotte Schultz, Afke Brenninkmeijer/Sara Lisa Verbrugge.
